Yamini Babu, President

Yamini was elected President of SERV after her term as Head of Legislation and a semester with the Education Reform Team. She will be graduating with a B.A. in Government, focus on American Politics, and a Minor in Public Writing and Rhetoric. Outside of SERV, she works as a Political Associate with Cavalier Strategies, serves as a Resident Advisor, and previously held leadership roles as President of the Woody-Cauthen Association Council and as a representative on UVA’s First-Year Council in the Academic and Career Committee. In her free time, she loves getting lost in a good book or driving along backroads with country music blasting.

Aryan Mhaskar, Head of Legislation

Aryan Mhaskar is a third-year studying Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. He previously served on the Education team of SERV prior to being elected as Head of Legislation, and loves all aspects of policy work within the Commonwealth, but especially higher-education and health reform. Outside of SERV, he is a brain-computer interface researcher in the School of Medicine, volunteer firefighter and EMT in Albemarle County, Rodman Scholars Council member in the School of Engineering, and Vice-President and Treasurer of Charlottesville Access Project.

Nathan Matzig, Head of Events

Nathan Matzig is a second-year Philosophy and Public Policy intended major. He previously served as an Environmental Justice Member in his first semester, and the team lead in the second. Nathan is most interested in Environmental, Housing, and Social Justice policy– and he hopes he can make the country a more equitable and democratic place with policy. Outside of SERV, he is involved in Student Council, Virginia Policy Lab, HoosVote, Friends of PHAR, Residential Leadership Experience, Lorax Society, Cavalier Food Pantry and SWAP.

Nat Taylor, Head of Communications

Nat is a second-year studying in the area of Politics, History, and International Relations. Previously, he served as team lead of SERV’s gun reform team and has worked on a variety of different political campaigns. Outside of SERV, he enjoys playing Viola in the Cavalier Symphony Orchestra, running at UVA Run Club, and writing articles for the Opinion Section of the Cavalier Daily. He is excited to work toward economic and social justice with his fellow exec members.
